Yes, I went to school to get educated. Below are two great institutions that I attended to get my BSs., MSc. and PhD.
From 1976 to 1982 I attended the University of São Paulo Physics Institute where I got my BSc. and MSc. There I've worked mostly in low energy nuclear physics. I also built detectors for an Enge Split Pole magnetic spectrometer.
The University of São Paulo is the largest University in South America. It is maintained mainly by the State of São Paulo, the richest state in Brazil. The campus is located west of the city. Yearly some 35,000 students(?) from all over the country go there to study. Engineering and Sciences are the highlights of this school.
In 1983 (until 1986) I moved to the Physics Department of the University of Rio de Janeiro. That's where I got my PhD in Nuclear Physics.
The University of Rio de Janeiro is the largest University maintained by the Brazilian Federal Goverment. It is located on the Ilha do Fundão near the International Airport of Galeão in Rio. The University is known for its Engineering school.
