Medium Energy Experiments

E885 - Search for Dilambda Hypernuclei using scintillating fiber arrays and neutron detectors. May, Franklin, Davis, et al. See the Famous 700 Carat Diamond target!

E905 - Search for Sigma states in 4He. T. Nagae This work was completed and published in Phys. Rev. Lett. 80, 1605, (1998). A summary of Sigma-hyperon nuclear studies in He, 6Li, and 9Be has been written and is expected to be available this year.

E906 - Dilambda search with CDS detection of successive pionic decays. Fukuda, Chrien, and Rusek . The analysis is underway and preliminary results are to be presented later this year.

E907 - Hypernuclear spectroscopy with the NMS. J-C Peng and E. Hungerford. This experiment is still under analysis and some preliminary results are available. Photographs taken upstream of the target, and of the NMS Collaborators are available.

E929 -Spin-orbit Splitting studied by the 13C(K-,(pi-,gamma)) Reaction. T. Kishimoto This experiment is still under analysis and some preliminary results are available.

E930 -High-resolution Gamma Spectroscopy of Hypernuclei using a Large-acceptance Ge Detector. H. Tamura This experiment is still under analysis and some preliminary results are available.

E931 -A Study of the Delta I=1/2 Rule in the Weak Decay of S-shell Hypernuclei. E. Hungerford, Val Zeps, and D. Dehnhard. This experiment had a preliminary test run in December 1998 without the necessary helium target. Feasibility was established for neutron detection with a polyethlene target.

PP2PP-Total and Differential Cross Sections and Polarization Effects in pp Elastic Scattering at RHIC. W. Guryn. Using both polarized and unpolarized beams, the experiment will study proton-proton elastic scattering in the CMS energy range from 60 GeV to 500 GeV at the RHIC collider.
