Minutes of June 20, 1996 E821 Temperature Control Meeting

   Al Pendzick reviewed work in progress on improvements to the
building: 

a) Add "panels" to the roll-up door,
b) Complete building hole repair,
c) Add "caps" to ventilation fans,
d) Remove or redirect roll-up door heater.

These will give us a great improvement over the situation we had last
winter. He discussed other options: 

i)   Insulate magnet back-leg (and perhaps top and bottom),
ii)  Insulate and heat-trace magnet back-legs,
iii) Add building air circulators,
iv)  Add ceiling.

    We can't really add the ceiling before the 1997 run because of 
the logistics of installing the vacuum chambers, quad pulsers,
detectors, etc. If we need it, this is an option for after the 1997
run. We decided against heating the steel directly. We will
investigate the first and third options. If the shimming team finds
these options improve the stability, we will do them this year.
