Hi to all on E949,
I am forwarding a note from the MCR ELOG for last night. In it you will note that they were asked to reduce the AGS intensity due to a request from E949. We should NEVER DO THAT . Our primary goal (and perhaps most difficult) right now is to get the AGS to 65 Tp. Let them put as much beam on our target as they want. It is up to us to close the mass slits or any other collimators taht you want. I-Hung gave instructions on how to do this last night before he left.
Rule #1: Do nothing to impede the progress of accelerator physicsits tuning up the AGS! (Let them get used to working with a high intensity machine.)
Rule #2: If rule #1 intereferes with our tuneup, close mass slits (I-Hung recommends K07-08 right now). Steve
