( See http://www.phy.bnl.gov/e949/run/shift_duties.html ) === === Shift takers should run, printout and check QOD plots in running smx and keep checking whether all the subsystems are Okay. === 0) Before the beam is back, - pulser (no beam) with tdc3_fe55.cfg, 10M events (RSSC) <--- done - Turn on beamline magnets, turn on D3 and set the endcap HVs for 10kG. <--- done at ~17:00 on April 18 - take cosmic_rsmon_xe run with QOD and make sure all the counters/channels are alive. +++ The beam was back at around 22:00 on April 18 +++ 1) Special runs for trigger check and detector calibration (after the break of ~2 weeks), in particular in low intensity. - km21 cs1_noCCD_v7.cfg, 300k events. <--- done !!!Ck ~ 1M/spill!!! (UTC calib, BM): Shaomin, Hujl - km22_mix with cs1_noCCD_v7.cfg, 100k events (RSgain) <--- done - eckmu2_mix with cs1_noCCD_v7.cfg, 400k events (ECgain) <--- done - km21_mix with cs1_v7.cfg, 100k events (TT/UTC): Jim, Shaomin <--- done - km21_mix with all_v7.cfg, 100k events - kp21_mix with all_v7.cfg, 50k events - kp22_mix with all_v7.cfg, 100k events ===> We should analyze monitors on disk. 2) quick check by QOD - take smx data (smx_v14 with all_v7.cfg), printout QOD and compare all the plots to those in the standard QOD, to confirm if all the sybsystems are alive or not. 3) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! start standard mix !! ===> start taking smx in the night of Apr 20. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4) Confirm the important trimming/calibrations, higher-level trigger performance, trigger Rejection/Acceptance and etc that were established in Feb-Apr. RS discriminator-mode issues (David)!!! a) set RS discriminator thresholds (15mV --> 25mV for Lay3-18) b) veryify that RS TDC occupation is acceptable c) consider to put discriminators into "Burst Guard" --> then "verify that we don't screw anything up" d) check the threshold vs single-photoelectron level. e) reading out trailing edge ? 5) Special runs for detector calibration: o Once we reach the state of "steady running", we take the following runs for detector calibration. ( The run coordinator manages these special run. ) - pulser (no beam) with tdc3_fe55.cfg, 10M events (RSSC, once in two weeks) - km22_mix with all_v5.cfg, 50k events (RSgain, once in a week) - km21_mix with cs1_v5.cfg, 100k events (TT/UTC, once in a month) - eckmu2_mix with cs1_noCCD_v5.cfg, 400k events (ECgain, once in a month) o Target CCD From: "Dick Strand" To: koma@post.kek.jp Cc: frank@bnl.gov, renee@sitka.triumf.ca, hujl@physgi00.phy.bnl.gov, joseph@triumf.ca Date: Tue, 23 Apr 2002 17:33:15 -0400 X-Mailer: InterCon TCP/Connect II 2.1.2 Hi Takeshi, This is to inform the e949 run master that the target ccd's are all correctly present and accounted for. Two glitch corrections were made and recorded in the electronic glitch log. At event 100k of run 48952 the spare input cable numb 99 for low gain ccd channel 67 of 1 to 81 was correctly inserted, restoring this channel. After event one of run 48953 a high gain target ccd reflection from the 10X amplifier lemo output to Split was eliminated for target location K07. The target ccd performance is monitored daily in qod and a separate analysis job.
