How to start it....

• Log on to bnlku7 as bnlonl
• Press the button on bnlonl Toolchest for DAQ you will get the PRODUCTION version.
  If you want to get the OLD or NEW version:
  Open a window on bnlku7, and type daq.csh xxx, where xxx is ``old'', ``production'' or ``new''. If XXX is omitted then you get the PRODUCTION version.
  daq.csh will execute /e787/local/online/bin/daq.csh. If you want to know more of what is going on when running the online system, this file is the starting point!!!. E.g. many logicals are defined here.

• Two windows come up:
  The E787 DATA ACQUISITION WINDOW and the DP0 MENU: The two are separate: the former handles command input, the latter is used to setup the output device (writing to disk, tape....). The windows are shown in figure 1 and 2.
