Up: Tape Labels
Previous: When is it
- Enter the new tape label in the tape label window (see figure 3)
and press return. If you do not want to change the tape label, then just press ``OK''.
and the window will disappear. Press cancel to cancel the opening of the tape.
- If you do multistreaming to tape, a tape device has first to be selected (in the usual
way by clicking on it). Then enter the tape label into the tape label window
and press return to confirm.
In multistreaming mode you can change the label back and forth between the different output
streams as long as you want. When you are finished, press ``OK'' and the window will disappear.
- If a bad tape label (i.e. a label that does not conform to the above described convention
is entered, nothing happens).
- If a tape label is entered, that already exists in the data base, then a window
will pop up and confirm the choice. In that case the data base entry for that
tape label will be deleted, so one should KNOW why one is doing this!!!!
- Once the output device is opened (or is in status ``opening...'', the tape label is
fixed. Closing and reopening the device is the only way to change the tape label.
