Ldap Authentication Server

The Physics Department Computing Support provides a centralized LDAP server. Groups can take advantage of this service and gain:

• Centralizing account management while retaining local control over account creation.
• Secure (SSL) information and authentication mechanism (as apposed to NIS).
• Automatically conform to many required DOE account auditting requirements.
• Limit users to specifically authorized systems.
