Gnome Connect To Server

You can create convenient Gnome Desktop folders that represent SCP connections. From the Gnome Panel "Places" menu, select "Connect To Server". In the dialog enter:

  • Service Type = SSH.
  • Server = name of the host to which you want to SCP.
  • Port = leave blank
  • Folder = path on server of the directory you want to access.
  • User Name = name of user to log in with
  • Name to use for connection = some descriptive string

If you wish to remove this folder, right click on it and select Unmount Volume.
