Cyber Security Points of Contact

The Physics Department CS POCs are:

Their duties include:

  • Answering any security related concerns or questions
  • Requesting ITD/CS to open or close conduits through the BNL perimeter firewall
  • Responding to emerging computer security issues from ITD or DOE.

Group Points of Contact

Group points of contact are responsible for:

  • Ensuring their group's computers adhere to BNL Research Enclave security policies and controls.
  • Responding to emerging issues

Group System Administrators

A Group System Administrator (SA):

  • is not necessarily the local admin of a single, personal workstation or laptop, however all such systems must have an associated SA.
  • takes the responsibility to be a contact for another individual's personal workstation or laptop (all personal workstations and laptops must have an SA associated with them)
  • understands BNL security requirements and assures their systems comply
  • responds to and corrects, if needed, any security finding in their systems
  • will take periodic SA training courses, when they are developed
  • has, or will have, SA responsibilities on their R2A2.
